Do you still not believe this is going to be a long, long NBA lockout? The latest proof came on Tuesday when the NBA owners sued NBA players. In fact, NBA owners filed a pair of claims — claiming everything from NBA players being uncooperative and that the players were making harmful threats.

Legal experts see this as a ploy by the owners to beat the players to the punch. The players are expected to sue the owners at some point … so the owners, by doing this, get in the first blow.

But legal experts also believe that this move by the NBA owners is further proof that the owners are in this for the long haul. They are going to lockout the players until they get a fantastic deal. If it costs the 2011-12 season, so be it. The owners mean business and they want to enhance their profitability exponentially.

This NBA lockout will probably come down to how long the players can hold out until they crack.
