The second generation Apple TV has now hit version 4.3, where it will allow you to part with your hard-earned money to purchase High Definition TV shows from iTunes itself. It must be noted that each purchase made on other iOS-powered devices (such as the iPod touch or iPad and its successor) or via iTunes will also show up automatically on Apple TV, ready and raring to go. With Vimeo, you are also able to browse and watch millions of user-uploaded videos that are currently available on the Vimeo service – without forking out a single cent to boot. Now how about that?

This is a departure from the original Apple TV that enabled users to rent movies and shows only, without any option to actually purchase those titles for future viewing. US-based users will also see Apple roll out preliminary iCloud support using this update, letting you download all over again some of the purchased TV shows. Too bad movies aren’t supported just yet though, but hopefully that is on its way.
