The New York Giants really wanted to keep their best running back. On Monday, they were able to re-sign Ahmad Bradshaw and avoid a disaster. Bradshaw received $9 million guaranteed. In total, his contract can be worth as much as $18 million over four years.
Last season, Bradshaw had the most productive season of his career. He totaled 1,235 rushing yards, 314 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
However, Ahmad Bradshaw’s 2011 fantasy football preview points to potential red flags. The four-year veteran has seen his yards per carry drop each season. Additionally, his running back mate, Brandon Jacobs, is coming off a very good year. Jacobs actually averaged more yards per carry and scored more touchdowns.
The bottomline is that Ahmad Bradshaw isn’t an elite fantasy football option for 2011. If you have him as your RB2, expect a handful of great games and a few donuts.
