Peyton Manning is probably the best player in the NFL. He might also be the player most dedicated to winning. In a recent interview, Peyton Manning said that he would rather take less money if it means the team will be able to re-sign free agents and go out and get other players that can help the Colts win football games.

For an NFL player, or any human in general, taking less money is rare. Then again, we know Peyton Manning is different. He’s obsessed with being great. And for an NFL player to be great, he needs good players around him. Peyton Manning realizes this and is putting money where is mouth is.

Speaking of Peyton Manning, when he’ll be able to step on the football field again is unknown. In the offseason, he underwent neck surgery. Now he’s waiting for nerves in his neck to recover. Peyton Manning probably won’t play in many preseason games — if at all. He’s not even 100% certain to begin the regular season in uniform.
