The Denver Broncos were in the market for a free agent running back. They talked about Ahmad Bradshaw, Ronnie Brown and DeAngelo Williams. In the end, the Broncos signed Willis McGahee. McGahee has split his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens.

In Denver, McGahee will split time with Knowshon Moreno. Though the Broncos have invested a lot in Moreno, the former first round pick has underwhelmed so far in his career. It should be interesting how the Broncos split the carries between Moreno and McGahee.

In fantasy football terms, this is good news for Willis McGahee owners. Moreno isn’t very good, which allows for the chance that McGahee could actually start at running back for the Broncos. Additionally, Morneo is injury-prone — and that could allow for more carries for McGahee.

Though McGahee is 30 years old, he hasn’t had many carries in recent years. That could allow for one big year out of him. If that happens, Willis McGahee could be fantasy football gold.
