The Albert Haynesworth era in New England can begin. The giant defensive lineman passed his conditioning tests and will practice today with the Patriots. The Patriots acquired Haynesworth from the Washington Redskins for a late-round draft pick.

Yesterday, speculation had it that Haynesworth had failed his conditioning test and therefore wasn’t allowed to practice. If he did fail yesterday, he must have gotten in better shape overnight.

A healthy, fit and dedicated Haynesworth is a nightmare for the rest of the league. When at his best, he might just be the best defensive player in the entire NFL. And that is why the Patriots are willing to put up with a few headaches and a few failed conditioning tests.

Watch out world, Albert Haynesworth is back.
