In case you haven’t heard, Ron Artest is changing his name to Metta World Peace. Yeah, he’s crazy. But to make the name change official, Ron Artest has to put his name change in a newspaper once a week over the course of a month — according to the laws in California.

Ron Artest has done a lot of weird things over the years. From running into the stands to punch a fan to changing his jersey number multiple times to changing his hairstyle over and over again. But Metta World Peace? This takes the cake.
Unfortunately for the Los Angeles Lakers, Ron Artest isn’t a very good basketball player anymore. His defense, which used to be his strength, is slipping. Offensively, he’s a shadow of his former self. When the NBA lockout ends, don’t be surprised if the Lakers try to trade him.
