People around the world were floored by the news that rapper Soulja Boy purchased a $55 million private jet. Well, it turns out people had a good reason to be floored. Soulja Boy lied. There’s no $55 million jet. Soulja Boy, along with some advisers around him, made it all up.

We thought something was fishy. That’s why we looked into how rich Soulja Boy is. It turns out, he’s not rich enough to buy a $55 million private jet.

Soulja Boy, who is turning 21 soon, reportedly purchased the private jet as a birthday present to himself. News services around the world picked up the story. Now a Soulja Boy spokesman is retracting the story, even though Soulja Boy himself initially confirmed it.

We shouldn’t have believed it to begin with, especially since Soulja Boy’s latest album sold less than 100,000 copies.
