I’m not sure I completely believe this report but according to rumors, Amy Winehouse was about to adopt Dannika Augustine prior to Amy Winehouse’s death. Dannika Augustine is a native of St. Lucia whose parents reportedly had already signed off on the adoption. The ten-year-old spoke to newspapers in London about her relationship with Amy Winehouse.

Dannika Augustine and her grandmother say that Dannika Augustine was living in a poor part of the island when Amy Winehouse met her. The two got along great and both really wanted the adoption to take place.

Amy Winehouse’s almost adopted daughter says she is devastated by her death. In fact, Dannika Augustine says she was already calling Amy Winehouse “mom”.
