Yesterday, we talked about the possibility of Donovan McNabb being traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Today, it became a reality. McNabb is now a member of the Vikings, while the Washington Redskins received a pair of conditional sixth-round picks.
The last hurdle in the trade was for Donovan McNabb to agree to a new contract. After that happened, the door opened for a new start for Donovan McNabb. His one year with the Redskins was a disaster. But now he’ll probably start for the Vikings and he’ll have a clean slate.
The long-term plan in Minnesota is still for Christian Ponder, who they selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft, to be the team’s starting quarterback. However, the NFL lockout put Christian Ponder behind schedule. Enter veteran Donovan McNabb.
