When the Chicago Cubs signed Kosuke Fukudome out of Japan, they had huge hopes for him. As it turns out, Kosuke Fukudome disappointed. However, the 34-year-old outfielder will now get a new start. On Thursday, Kosuke Fukudome was traded to the Cleveland Indians for a pair of minor leaguers.

Kosuke Fukudome is hitting .273 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 293 at-bats. Over his career, his stats are very underwhelming. He has a career batting average of .262 to go with 37 homers and 169 RBIs in 1651 at-bats.

The Indians, who went after Carlos Beltran before he was traded to the San Francisco Giants, really need help in the outfield. While Kosuke Fukudome is a far, far cry from Carlos Beltran, he should be able to help. The change of scenery very well could help the native of Osaki, Japan.
