Lots of half-naked men, manga Harry Potter and the first publicity shot for "The Eleven Doctors" (possibly)

TREND OF THE WEEK

Who says sci-fi and fantasy is for boys? We were trying to watch this week's crops of SF and fantasy TV episodes trying to spot spurious potential but we couldn't because we kept getting distracted in virtually every show by MEN TAKING THEIR BLOODY SHIRTS OFF for the most spurious reasons. Now, you expect that kind of thing from True Blood and Torchwood. They've been finding tenuous reasons for blokes to show off their pecs for yonks now. But this week even Warehouse 13, Eureka and Teen Wolf were in on the act. True Blood tried to maintain superiority by going for some kind of endurance record, keeping Eric shirtless for so long he looked like he'd caught by a chill half way through the episode. Torchwood would have claimed a prize for two completely nekkid men in one scene, except the BBC edited it out. Come back, Camelot, and Eva Green with her amazing performing breasts… all is forgiven. Oh hang on, Starz cancelled it. Bugger.

RECORD-BREAKING ATTEMPT OF THE WEEK

Now this we thoroughly approve of. Well, it's better than thousands of hula-hoopers or synchronised plate spinning anyway (though the Spurious panel does have a soft spot for record breaking domino-toppling attempts). To celebrate their series in which Shatner interviews the other Trek captains, US cable network Epix is creating the longest scream of, "Khaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn!" ever done online. They're encouraging people to upload videos of themselves imitating Kirk in his most intense moment from The Wrath Of Khan and editing together the result. Now, where’s Norris McWhirter when you need him?

UNEXPECTED MISFITS TRAILER OF THE WEEK

E4 seem to be kicking off a clever viral campaign for the next series of Misfits mighty early. At least we think it's a viral campaign for something. I mean, this guy cannot be for real, surely? Aw, bless him…

HUMAN BRIDGE OF THE WEEK
